🔧 What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us evolve and scale the systems that power Barkibu’s products — from claims automation and customer onboarding to data processing and integrations with our partners. You’ll work mainly with Python and Ruby, but we’re language-agnostic: what matters most is your ability to solve complex problems using technology.

You will:

• Design, develop and maintain reliable, scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to deliver meaningful, user-focused features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, always thinking in terms of simplicity and long-term value.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions around performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Take ownership of services through the full development lifecycle — from concept to production.
• Help shape best practices in observability, CI/CD, testing, and system design.
• Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
