Design the integrations platform that connects Abacum with the financial and operational systems modern finance teams rely on every day.
About the opportunity
Abacum is a Business Planning platform that brings reporting, collaboration, planning and forecasting into one product for modern finance teams.
Founded in 2020 by two former CFOs, the company has grown to more than 100 people across 30+ nationalities, with offices in New York, Toronto and Barcelona.
After raising more than $100M — including a $60M Series B in 2025 — Abacum is scaling its product and engineering organisation. Customers include Dish Networks, Strava, BetterUp, Kajabi, JG Wentworth, Abridge, Cortex and hundreds of other businesses.
You will take a leading role in the integrations team, building the infrastructure that ingests, normalises and enriches financial and business data from a broad ecosystem of third-party platforms.
What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of Abacum’s integrations platform for ingesting, normalising and annotating business data
- Build and scale bidirectional integrations with billing, accounting, ERP, commerce and HRIS platforms
- Move across different languages and ecosystems to adapt ERP scripting frameworks, native extensions and third-party SDKs
- Design secure authentication flows using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SSO providers, JWTs, API keys and service-to-service authentication
- Architect low-code and no-code capabilities such as connector builders, declarative DSLs and LLM-assisted workflows
- Choose the right integration strategy — unified APIs, in-house development or external partners — to accelerate delivery and maintenance
- Ensure integrations remain secure, resilient and performant while processing high-volume financial and transactional data
- Collaborate with Product, Design, finance experts and customers to turn ambiguous workflows into intuitive software experiences
- Establish technical standards and guide architecture across integrations and data-heavy systems
What we're looking for
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working in integrations roles
- Strong experience building integrations for data-heavy use cases
- Hands-on depth with Python and modern backend systems
- Experience designing or contributing to integrations platforms, data platforms or large-scale API ecosystems
- Practical knowledge of authentication, token lifecycles, secure communication and secret management
- The curiosity and persistence to solve ambiguous, high-stakes technical problems
- Pragmatic engineering judgment: knowing when to move quickly and when foundational architecture matters
- Strong ownership, collaborative communication and professional English
Bonus points
- Experience with ERP, accounting, billing, commerce or HRIS platforms
- Experience designing connector builders, declarative workflows or low-code tooling
- Exposure to LLM-assisted workflows, data enrichment or financial data products
What’s on offer
- Full-time, fully remote role from Spain
- €60K–€80K salary range plus stock options
- Competitive vacation policy and private medical insurance
- Learning and development budget
- Access to Meditopia and English or Spanish language courses
- A high-impact role with meaningful ownership over a core product platform
